One of the most exciting players I have ever seen, A.I. was a one man show, too a fault. It is what kept him from ascending to that upper echelon of NBA royalty, but his talent cannot go unnoticed.
"The Answer" was an 11 time All-Star who averaged 26.7 points per game to go with 2.2 steals and 6.2 assists for his career.
The 2000-2001 season was Iverson's greatest season as a pro. He became the lightest and the shortest player, at 6" and 165lbs, to win the NBA Most Valuable Player award. He also led his 76ers to the NBA Finals to face Kobe and Shaq. Philly lost the series 4-1, but that Game 1 victory where A.I. scored 48 points was the only loss for the Lakers that entire Postseason.
Despite not living up to his full potential, Iverson was undoubtably one of the greatest players of his era.
His last game in the NBA was in 2010 and his last professional game was in 2011 in Turkey.
An NBA comparison to Iverson, today, would be Rajon Rondo meets Derrick Rose, scary I know.
